Philosophy, Aesthetics and Technics on 29th May

Ian James seminar will examine Jean-Luc Nancy’s philosophical engagement with the question of technology in relation to the German phenomenological thought of Martin Heidegger (1889-1976). The seminar will focus on the manner in which Nancy poses the question of technics and technology in relation to aesthetic experience. Students will be encouraged to think these issues through in relation to wider questions of artistic practice and criticism.  Follow the link above for suggested reading.
